Happy Birthday to Mani sir and Raja sir!

Today (June 2) is the birthday of two of the most influential people in Kollywood- music maestro Ilayaraja and the master Mani Ratnam. Mani Ratnam is the most influential director in Tamil cinema, who understand the nuances of making good films and packaging it successfully.

He is the director who put Kollywood on the national stage with films like Roja and Bombay. As per our sources Mani Sir after he flirted with big budget star spangled Raavan in Hindi and Raavanan in Tamil, is going back to his roots. He is toying with the idea of making a film with new artists and technicians, backed by a solid script.

The musical genius is celebrating it in style by giving a "priceless gift to millions of his fans- an exclusive interview on Radio station, Radio Mirchi (98.3 FM)."

Normally Raja sir is very reticent and also does not believe in celebrating his birthday. However this birthday, the maestro shares some details about his personal life in the programme 'Neenga Naan
Raja Sir'. Raja Sir's songs and background score played a very crucial role in the success of many Tamil films.

He remains one of the most popular composers ever in the South Indian film industry, and also in the list of world's top selling music artists.
