Actor Ajith Dismantles his Fan Clubs ?

May 1 is known all over India for being Labour’s Day, fans across Tamil Nadu associate it with the birthday of actor Ajith. Come Sunday and ‘thala’ will be celebrating his 40th birthday. Just a couple of days ahead of his birthday the actor has opened his heart out for all his fans.

Here is what the actor had to say to his fans right ahead of his birthday:

Ajith started his acting career with ‘Amaravathi’ and ‘Mankatha,’ that is shortly scheduled for a release, will mark his 50th film in the industry. At this juncture the actor thanks the people who were with him; his co actors, actresses, his directors, technicians, his friends, fans and family who have been there as a source of constant support in this journey of his. But of late, there has been something that has been occupying Ajith’s mind and the actor felt this as the right time to unleash his thoughts to his fans.

Ajith claims that he has never used his fans as a tool for any personal gains nor has he used them as a shield for his likes and dislikes in the industry, and also would never use them for such purposes. The fans have the right to support him if his films do well and criticize him if his films don’t do so well. He has also revealed that he fully understands that people in his fan club as well as the others who don’t belong to his fan club enjoy his films equally, and there is no difference between the two as far as Ajith is concerned. Ajith has also made it very clear, time and again that no one’s family should suffer due to his working for the fan club.

But there are certain unpleasant things that have been happening recently in the fan club. At certain places there is rivalry being propagated, some people have begun to act individually without following orders passed by the general body, and some fans are not heeding to their rules; some people are also using the fan club for political purposes and all these acts have come down heavily upon the actor’s faith in the smooth running of his fan club.

So just a couple of days ahead of his birthday the actor has come up with a decision which might come a shock and surprise to many in the industry. Ajith has decided that the Ajith Fan Club which has been functioning under his name would be dissolved from May 1st. The actor is of view that to do good one needs a good heart. Not only that, the actor, through his note has also revealed that with the changing times the temperament of the people has also changed. They are very receptive to the things happening around them and only an actor who is genuine can be a star. Only such a star would earn dignity, a good name and fame from the people.

Velayudham Songs on May 14 ?

Here are more interesting and never-revealed-before facts coming your way from ‘Velayudham’ as we promised last week. Vijay is helming the project with Genelia and Hansika Motwani as his heroines. Like all his other films this film too introduces the hero with a song.

The song, sources from the team reveal, has been made at a whooping budget of 2 crores. The song has been filmed from Thirumoorthi Hills. Dance choreographer Ashokraj, who choreographed intro songs for Vijay in ‘Sivakasi’ and ‘Pokkiri,’ has choreographed this song too. The song spans the typical art forms of villages in Tamil Nadu like Mayilattam, Uyilattam, Kollattam and the likes with more than 200 performances performing unanimously.

The intro song also features around 150 international dancers performing international art forms. There are also models from Mumbai shaking a leg and Russian artists performing for this song. Vijay Antony is the music director of this film, and he has hit five tracks for this film’s album. A couple of songs have been filmed abroad. There are reports that ‘Velayudham’s music might hit stands on May 14th.

Almost eighty percent of the filming is complete with one song and the climax scene yet to be shot, say sources close to the director. The film also has around six stunt scenes were sparks are sure to fly. In all, ‘Velayudham’ seems like one masala film with all the right ingredients in the right proportion for a huge hit.

Simbu Conform "Dabangg" Remake

All eyes are on STR today, even as his ‘Vaanam’ is opening big. But the actor is not as tensed as one would expect him to be. Hoping good times for the mulistarrer at the box-office, he speaks about his future projects.

“Podaa Podi will be my next release. I will finish shooting for it soon. As far as ‘Vettai Mannan’ is concerned, shooting is taking place as scheduled and the film is shaping up well,” he says.

Confirming a longtime buzz, he says, “Yes, I am going to do ‘Dabangg’ remake. Dharani will direct the film and I am eagerly looking forward for the shoot, which is expected to start in June.”

On walking out of ‘Ko’, which hit the screens last week and doing extremely well, STR says, “It’s purely a professional decision and I am not worried about it. Because I have a winner like ‘Vaanam’ and the film will speak on behalf of me.”

Prabhu Deva - Nayanthara Wedding in June ?

It looks like ace director Prabhu Deva and actress Nayantara will tie the knot sometime in June or July 2011.

Sources say that the delay in their marriage is because of the ongoing divorce case filed by Prabhu Deva and his wife Ramlatha before the family court of Chennai in December 2010.

Initially, Ramlatha was unwilling to settle for a compromise, but when Prabhu Deva offered her a huge compensation in alimony, including three residential properties and two cars, she accepted the compromise.

According to a source, Prabhu has already started giving the alimony he promised and as a first step, he recently paid her Rs. 5 lakhs. A farmhouse and a 22-cent property in ECR have also been transferred to Ramlatha and their two sons Rishi and Aditya. Besides a property in Hyderabad, a flat in Anna Nagar will also be transferred to Ramlatha.

A remake of the Bollywood hit Band Baaja Baaraat (2010), this bilingual will be simultaneously make in Telugu and Tamil. Ravi Teja will be the hero in both versions, it is heard.

According to latest reports, Trisha has been roped in to play the heroine in this flick. Bum Chik Bum is the title under consideration for the Telugu version. UTV Motion Pictures is said to be the producer. The official announcement is awaited.

Band Baaja Baaraat, a romantic comedy set in the backdrop of a wedding, was directed by Maneesh Sharma with Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh in the lead.

Vaanam Chennai Rights bagged by Vijaya T Rajendar

Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies may release ‘Vaanam’ all over the world. But the film’s Chennai distribution rights have been bagged by STR’s father Vijaya T Rajendar.

“Silambarasan’s home banner Kural TV Creations will distribute ‘Vaanam’ in Chennai region. There is no specific reason behind this decision as this is the case for most Simbu movies,” say sources.

Meanwhile, Simbu has issued a warning to his online fans, urging them not to criticise any other actor. This announcement comes in the wake of his fans thanking him for not acting in ‘Ko’, which according to them had little scope for the protagonist.

‘I have great respect for my colleagues in the industry. I will not allow my fans to talk bad about anyone. It is not fair to leave harsh comments on a public forum like the world wide web,” he said.

Vijay's Velayudham Getting Ready for Release ?

Aascar Films and producer V Ravichandran has started the 'first look campaign' for his big budget Vijay entertainer Velayudham.

The mass entertainer is directed by M Raja and stars Vijay, Genelia, Hansika and Saranya Mohan in pivotal roles and Santhanam, MS Bhaskar, Sathyan, Pandirajan, Sayaji Shinde and 14 villains mainly from Mumbai. The film has music by Vijay Antony and Priyan is the cameraman.

According to a press statement issued by Aascar Films: "80 per cent of the film is complete. Vijay plays a milkman in the film, with Saranya Mohan playing his sister. Genelia is a journalist and Hansika is Vijay's love interest. There are five songs and six deadly action scenes in the film choreographed by Anal Arasu."

Velayudham is likely to release around Vijay's birthday (June 22), and the film is one of the hottest in the trade.

Vaanam Release on April 29th

Vaanam has been awarded with a U/A certificate and is ready for release. The Censor Board officials also muted some of the dialogues in the film. The movie will hit the screens on April 29th, 2011. Vaanam has created a lot of expectations as this film is a remake of the Telugu hit flick Vedam. Also, this is Silambarasan’s first release after the astounding success of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya last year.

Vaanam is directed by Krish, who had also directed the Telugu version. Anushka plays the female lead in this film. Sonia Agarwal, Bharath, Vega, Jasmine and others also share the screen space in this film.

Again Ajith's Mankatha Postponed ?

Mankatha’s audio was supposed to be released in May but this now stands postponed. The shooting of this Ajith starrer is progressing at a rapid pace in Mumbai and hence the audio launch which was scheduled in May has been put off.

The latest we hear is that Cloud Nine Movies is planning an audio launch and movie release in the month of June. With both the audio launch and movie release scheduled in the same month, Ajith fans are bound for a treat.

Mankatha is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dayanidhi Alagiri of Cloud Nine Movies. The film also stars Arjun, Trisha, Lakshmi Rai, Anjali and others.

Director Ameer Started "Maanavar Marumalarchi Thittam" ?

One of the Best Director Ameer has said that he would play a crucial role in the next Assembly elections, by making more number of youngsters to vote.

“It’s wrong for some actors to step into politics only at the time of polls and to launch personal attacks during public campaigns. Rather, they should strive for decent politics,” said the actor-director.

A satire, ‘Saguni’ is about a youngster who tries his best to reform the society. “Sankar Dayal wanted Karthi sport a new look and the actor was game for it. The output has satisfied everyone,” they add.

Saying that Karthi’s looks in the movie would remind young Sivakumar, sources further say: “A dedicated actor that he is, Karthi is doing a lot of homework these days to get his act right in Sakuni.”

Apparently confirming this, Karthi says, “I am not a method actor. But would try to give me best to the character I play. Thankfully I am getting opportunities to play a variety of roles.”

Avan Ivan’s Audio Launch ?

Avan Ivan’s audio launch will be held on April 18th 2011 at the Residency Towers in Chennai. Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the music for this film which has been directed by Bala. Vishal and Arya play the lead roles while Janani Iyer and Madhu Shalini play their love-interests.

With the audio launch scheduled on Monday, the film is expected to be released next month. Avan Ivan has created a lot of expectations because it is touted to be the first comedy film from Bala.

Shankar has revealed the first look of his Nanban in today's papers. It is a remake of Raju Hirani's blockbuster 3 Idiots. The film stars Vijay, Jiiva, Srikanth, Satyaraj, SJ Suryah and Ileana.

Nanban is Shankar's first remake. However he was very particular that the look of the film should not be similar to 3 Idiots. Instead of the famous three idiots sitting on a potty ad, Shankar's three heroes are smiling with weird looking glasses and white lip gloss.

The only thing Shankar has taken from the original is the tag line: "All is well". Nanban has music by Harris Jayaraj and camera is by Manoj Paramahamsa. The film produced by Gemini Film Circuit is scheduled to release for Diwali 2011.

2011, summer season in Kollywood started on April 8, with the release of Dhanush-Hansika mass masala Mappillai, a day later Prashanth's period drama Ponnar Shankar made it to the theatres. As of now for the first time ever there are no biggies slated for April 14, traditionally celebrated as Tamil New Year earlier.

The release date may change depending on various issues including political situation, popularity of IPL cricket, and other factors which the trade has no control over. April 22, will see the release of KV Anand's Ko which has Jiiva, new girl Karthika in the lead along with Piaa, Ajmal and Prakash Raj. The film has hit music by Harris Jayaraj and should usher in summer season in a big way. It is releasing simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu worldwide and is sure to take Jiiva's biggest ever opening, as Red Giant Movies are marketing it in TN.

April 29, is going to be Silambarasan's crucial day as his Vaanam produced by VTV Ganesh is releasing worldwide. Vaanam is written and directed by Krish and has an ensemble cast, including Silambarasan, Bharath, Anushka ,Sonia Aggarwal, Prakash Raj and Saranya.

May 6, may see the long awaited release of Prabhu Deva directed romantic musical Engeyum Kathal which has Jayam Ravi and Hansika in the lead. The AGS Entertainment produced film is being marketed by Sun Pictures which will ensure a well-orchestrated release plan and promotions.

May 14, is the tentative release date of Vikram's Vijay directed Deiva Thirumagan. The audio launch of the film which has music by GV Prakash and is produced by Mogan Natarajan is slated for April 14. It will give one month period to popularise the film which has Anushka, Amala Paul and Santhanam in crucial roles.

May 27 as of now is being planned as the release date of AGS Entertainments big summer release Bala's first comedy entertainer Avan Ivan, which has two of the hottest stars Arya and Vishal coming together for the first time.

June and July is likely to see the release of some of the other big summer films which were slated for April/May earlier like Ajith's Mankatha, Vijay's Velayudham and Suriya's 7am Arivu. These films got pushed as their shooting got delayed.
