Hansraj Saxena, the CEO of Sun TV, was arrested last night based on the complaint filed by producer Selvaraj of Kandhan Films. According to the complainant, Hansraj Saxena threatened him with dire consequences and so he had to part with the distribution rights of the Vishal starrer Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai.
Though the film’s rights were sold for 1.25 crores, Sun paid a meager sum. When Selvaraj demanded the balance amounting to 82.53 lakhs, he was again threatened. Following this, the producer filed a complaint two years ago but there was no action on this.
With Selvaraj following up the case after the change in the government, the police have now arrested Hansraj Saxena.
